Carolina’s Got Art! was founded to support Carolina artists – period – and our mission remains unchanged. We offer artists an opportunity to grow their brand and sell their work, and this drives us from year to year. Beginning in 2009, we had such great submissions that we expanded the main, juried show to include a second show, called the Salon show. In 2010, we expanded this as well with a virtual display of ALL work (artist permitting) submitted to us, called “Through The Juror’s Eyes” with an eye toward selling these pieces as well in 2013 (again, artist permitting).
#1: Carolina’s Got Art! Juried Show
The main, juried show that will be held in Elder Gallery from 3 May – 30 May 2013 at Elder Gallery. Lance Esplund, art critic at Bloomberg, will serve as juror. Any entry to CGA! on this website will have first consideration for entry here.
#2: The Salon Show
This second event will immediately follow the CGA! juried show and be exhibited at Elder Gallery as well. As in previous years, work for this show will be chosen by Larry Elder, the gallery owner and be on display for the month of June. Any entry to CGA! on this website not chosen for the CGA! show will be considered for entry here.
#3: Through The Juror’s Eyes
This third, virtual show (running in a theater-like setting) will run for both months, May and June, in Elder Gallery with the intent to show the entirety of art submitted from across both states (artist permitting, obviously). We intend to offer the work submitted here for sale as well (artist permitting). This means that ANY artist submitting to the show will have an opportunity to show and sell their work over a two-month period, something we are very excited to offer.
